Willesden

I had a mate who used to go to the Harlesden working mens club. I think his name was Willy Johnson, we all had nick names then, and his was "Bootnose. It would be great to catch up with him again,if he is still alive,I suppose he might be about 70ish now.

Willesden Do you have the surname PIPPETT in your family?

Do you have the surname PIPPETT in your family from Kilburn, Willesden and Hendon areas?
I have found CAMERON and PIPPETT in my family history at the turn of the 1800/1900 and into 20th century.
If you have these names in your family I would very much like to hear from you.

Willesden Willesden Lodge - 1850s - 1900s

Just wondered if anyone has any pictures of Willesden Lodge, or knows where its location was in Willesden Green. My gt gt gt grandfather lived there in the 1870s (Samuel Leake Worth) and the house is known to have been built by 1855. I can't trace any record of it after the 1890s. Many thanks

Willesden Willesden motorcycle club

I have been given what appears to be a winners cup from a motorcycle competition, it is engraved W&DMCC premier cup 1929, it was presented to A E Harris who was riding a 493cc Sunbeam, I think it was Willesden as his family lived there for some time, any information would be helpful.

My Father's family (Walker) lived in Westbury Rd. in the 30's, until he went into the army before the war. The road was still there in the 50's as I lived in Vicarage Rd. and used to walk down near there and go under the bridge at Taylors Lane and up by the Gibbons Rd. power station on my way to the cubs, who met in the Brentfield Rd School. Most of these roads, i ncluding Vicarage Rd, were demolished in the 70,s. I would think that Holly Close or Creukthorne Rd are were Westbury Rd was situated.

Willesden Mary Jane or Mabel COUCHMAN info please.

Mary Jane or Mabel COUCHMAN info please.

Can anyone help me trace my father's family history? My father was James Arthur Grieve b. 1915 at 4 Odessa Rd Harlesden. His mother was a Margaret Grieve but I have been unable to trace more. His father is not named anywhere. My father was fostered somewhere in this area. A few years ago I posted here for help in my research but nothing came of it.

I am now having another try as I have found that my father's foster mother could have been either a Mary Ann (b. 1862) or a Mabel (b. 1874) COUCHMAN both born in Lynsted, Kent. A Mabel Couchman was a witness at my parents' marriage in 1944. On the marriage certificate my father's first names are reversed to Arthur James Grieve.

I know it's a long-shot but does anyone have either of these COUCHMAN ladies in their family history files?

Please contact me at  Mail-me

Thanks for reading this and fingers crossed!
