A friend of mine and I are running a mixed group book club for people in their 20s and 30s from Wandsworth / Clapham Junction / Putney / Clapham. We are looking for new members (girls and guys), especially more men to have more or less of an even balance. However, numbers are limited. Its fairly a relaxed chilled group. Each member gets a turn to choose a book, anything from classics to science fiction....why? This is so we can truely appreciate (or ridicule!) the types of books published :) Our next meeting is on Monday 21st June 2010 and the book we are going to discuss is called 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini. For further information, please email me by clicking here -> Mail-me Looking forward to hearing from you! If you are looking to join a book group or even start one yourself, you can search the London map for creative groups near you. Members are joining daily to start meeting new local friends :) Post reply -->London book clubs 17 Feb book clubs Beer & BooksWe're a long running book group that meets in a central London pub once a month (Mondays in a Samuel Smiths establishment). Our numbers have shrunk due to members moving out of London and we are hoping to attract some new blood. We generally only read fiction but are open to non-fiction choices. Discussion of the actual book normally last about an hour before we move onto more eclectic topics. Beware, all the group at present are either teachers, trainee teachers or engaged to teachers. Non-teachers particularly welcome. We're all in our 30s with a Radio 4 outlook. Most members choices go down well with the group though mine choices are normally politely glossed over. If you are interested please try and contact me at Mail-me . I don't check my emails very often so it might be a week before you hear back. Post reply -->London book clubs Paul 7 Feb book clubs Babychino Book Club - Soho-ish Book ClubBurdened with greatness? Not quite sure what that greatness is? Then the Babychino Book Club may be for you. We are a poorly organised book club that meets every two-four weeks in disappointingly seedy pubs in Soho. We have two token males, a token American lady and a token Israeli lady and several other members whom have yet to be tokenised. We are meeting on Tuesday 9th February to “discuss” To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf. Our club secretary Gloria will be happy to answer any queries/ questions/ enquiries. Mail-me Post reply -->London book clubs Matt and James and Gloria 5 Feb book clubs Wimbledon book clubWe are a mixed, friendly and sociable book club from a variety of professional backgrounds that has been going for nearly three years.
