West Norwood 41 Durban Road  

Is there anybody who might give me some information about a former (deceased) occupant of this address.
His name was Albert Edward Powell.
In 1945 he was a soldier and doing his duty in Helmond, The Netherlands,
His son was called Freddy Powell, his wife name uknown.
He befriended a Dutchman, and I am the son of ths Dutchman, living in Thailand.
I would like to know when Mr AE Powell died, and where he was buried, or maybe cremetad.
Also interested in his date of birth and death.

West Norwood brenda harris from 1952 to 1954  

I was in west norwood with my two brothers derek harris and brian harris, i do remember some childrens names, tommy clamp, alan dinnich, rosy wilton, annabell eatean june obrian, lilly oaks, i do remember the swimming pool, one off the ladys who run my house was miss colgate, if anyone knows any information or any of these people could you please email me, thankyou  Mail-me

West Norwood Norwood Park Road  

Hi everyone,
We are thinking of buying something in Norwood Park Road but we currently live in Balham so we are not really familiar with the area.

Is it safe? I am expecting a baby so "family friendly" neighbourhood is essential. Is it safe to walk at night from West Norwood train station?

West Norwood Hamilton Road West Norwood  

Hi there
We looked at a house on Hamilton Road and really liked it. We don't currently live in the area and was wondering what it was like. It didn't take long to walk to the shops of Gipsy Hill but the street is quite a mixture of different types of housing with an estate at one end so wondering if its safe - the usual thing! If anyone can provide anymore info that would be great!

West Norwood Disability Charity with Gardening club  

I am looking for a charity with physically and mentally disabled people and they help them to be independent. They run gardening clubs and teach people how to garden.

I met this charity at the Lambeth Country show, I think 2 years ago. I remember them telling me that they were based in West Norwood.

There is a Fitness First on Streatham High Road near to the bottom of Leigham Court Road in Streatham. There is also yoga etc. at the Brockwell Lido. There is a council gym near Streatham Common but this may be about to be knocked down to make way for the new huge Tesco. There is a big centre in Brixton near the rail station.

West Norwood Celebrations  

On Easter Saturday 11th April Emmaus on Knights Hill are celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the cpening of our community house.We have with us as our special guest YolanDa Brown a renowned Jazz Saxsophonist who won a MOBO in 2008.There will be lots of stalls and entertainment taking place.Everything starts at 11am and ends at 5pm. YolanDa will be performing at 3pm.

west norwood is a realy nice place 2 live there is a pub called the norwood hotel it has changed in there so much they have a quiz on a wedsndays night were u could win 50 pound the land lady is so sweet her name is donna she will make u fell very welcome so why not pop in there 4 a few drinks after work as it is only next door 2 the train station

I have recently had a leaflet through my door from the police saying they are stepping up activity due to the recent complaints of anti-social behaviour and crime on the estate between Knights Hill and Elder Road. Does anybody know anything more about this?
