West Norwood Celebrations  

On Easter Saturday 11th April Emmaus on Knights Hill are celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the cpening of our community house.We have with us as our special guest YolanDa Brown a renowned Jazz Saxsophonist who won a MOBO in 2008.There will be lots of stalls and entertainment taking place.Everything starts at 11am and ends at 5pm. YolanDa will be performing at 3pm.

west norwood is a realy nice place 2 live there is a pub called the norwood hotel it has changed in there so much they have a quiz on a wedsndays night were u could win 50 pound the land lady is so sweet her name is donna she will make u fell very welcome so why not pop in there 4 a few drinks after work as it is only next door 2 the train station

West Norwood Knights Hill and Elder Road Crime  

I have recently had a leaflet through my door from the police saying they are stepping up activity due to the recent complaints of anti-social behaviour and crime on the estate between Knights Hill and Elder Road. Does anybody know anything more about this?

West Norwood Moving to the area  

Myself and my wife are looking to move to Tritton Road which appears to be on the border of West Dulwich and West Norwood (although we're not overly familiar with the area).

Do people regard the area as safe and would it be considered a desirable area to start a family? Specifically, is the walk to West Norwood station fairly busy and well lit in the winter (only done the walk once, during the day).

James,

Congratulations on your move to Tritton Road. I live a little further south (Rommany Road) but often walk and cycle through Tritton Road. A nice road with great family homes.

I have found your road and surrounding roads to be safe. There are normally a fair number of people passing through, and plenty of young families. Your nicest route back from the station will be to head down the high street, turn right onto Robson Road (just before the Tesco), right again on to Martell Road and then left onto Tritton Road.

Head for Park Hall Road/Croxted Road for some nice boutiquey shops, and I can highly recommend the Rosendale pub on Rosendale Road.

West Norwood Living in Norwood Park Road  

We have lived happily in Norwood Park Road for 4 years with a 7yr old and a 6-month old. our house backs onto the park which is fantastic in the summer, and has a good playground. We have seen the odd police car on the road over the years, but nothing more than expected. Some cars seem to race up/down the hill, but this has drastically reduced since they blocked the cut-through road from Gipsy Rd. Welcome to the area and hope to see you here soon.
