Post or Ask something here in 'Wanstead' Wanstead B&W Male Cat with white cone collar lostHi, Unfortunately we've lost our pet cat Boo, who escaped on friday 13th April evening from Rectory Crescent, Wanstead E11 after surgery on his back right paw and chemical castration, he was wearing a white cone collar to prevent him licking his wounds. We'd be very, very grateful of any information leading to Boo's return and to pay for any veterinary care that he's had. Bars and restaurants, several small and one huge park. Wanstead Park which is excellent again. still maintains a good large village attitude with lots of bistro type places to eat and drink. Nearest nightlife is Funky Mo Jo's in south woodford couple of quid for a taxi. Good selection of shops if you don't want to leave the area. Wanstead Truffles chocolate shopDoes anyone know the latest on (former)Truffles chocolate shop? Last I read the owner applied and got retrospective planning permission to demolish it! That's a joke, considering it was demolished illegally under the council's nose. His son claimed it was falling down before they demolished it...that's convenient. Another piece of our heritage lost. I only wish I'd taken photos of this beautiful old building for posterity. No doubt the owner, if it ever gets to court, will get a fine amounting to much less than the profit he makes 'developing' the site.
