Post reply -->London Walworth Jill nee Moore 26 May Walworth TRAFALGAR ROAD 3 PROPERTIESMy father's (Stan)family all used to live in that street around 1880's through to well into the 1960's. My grandfather (Frank) was a furniture dealer and had a shop along there too , the house numbers I know for sure are 97, 99 and 121 on the corner where my Dad's three (was four!) old aunts lived... Lil, Nell, Bett and Flo. Are those properties still standing. I know I visited 121 with my dad when v. young and the door was pale green. We used to park there and then go to East Street market. Or if the building is still there! This was possibly ran by a German family by the name of Muller / Schopf or Rettner? If you have any information or photographs, please contact me on this site? I appreciate any help! :-) Post reply -->London Walworth Mike 18 Feb Walworth Merrow Street - Ministry of WorksIn the '60's I was an Apprentice in Merrow Street for the Ministry of Works at the workshops on the Southern side of Merrow Street close to the junction with Walworth Road. I see from Google Earth there is a housing development there now. Would love to hear Mail-me from anyone who knows the history of the premises as it was pretty old when I worked there!! Some old work-mates I would love to hear from/about are 'Sugar' Bill Robinson who was also a boxer and guitarist. Spent some good times with him at the Manor Place Baths fights and at the Thomas A'beckett where he trained and played in a band. 'Smudger' Smith the foreman and I think lived in Amelia Street. Paul Crisp, also an apprentice living Bromley. They lived at 99 South Street (renamed Dawes Street in 1937) from about 1903 on until the start of the war.
