Walworth Cooper Family 99 South Street

Does anyone remember my granddad, George William Cooper (1895-1956) and his family (father George Edward, 1871-1948, mother Polly (1870-1954), sister Ethel (1897-1981), sister Marie (1904-1995), sister Gladys (1907-1979), brother Albert (1910-1932), brother Sid (1913-2002). They lived at 99 South Street (renamed Dawes Street in 1937) from about 1903 on until the start of the war. I believe the side of South Street (now Dawes) where they lived was demolished in the 1960s to build a big council flats  Mail-me

WOOLER STREET, Walworth
does anyone have a photo of the street party end of world war two. Any information of family for Thomas Howlett, lived in Pilton Place, East Street, was an ARP warden at English Martyrs during the war, he also worked for Hugmans the fish people, he smoked the haddocks. Or any of the Secular family. The bakers on the corner of Trafalgar Street/Portland was Gilfords, Marie was the daughter of the owners of the dairy opposite.

Walworth Mary Ann Sabina Bone nee Middleton or Charnock

Mary Ann is my Gt Grandmother. She was born in Walworth in 1849 She was either nee Middleton or Charnock but there are no records of her prior to her marriage to George Bone in 1866 in Newington.
Her marriage cert says Middleton and gives her father as George Charnock however my Grandmother said her father was J M Charnock - House painter of 50 Guildford Place, Lower Kennington Lane.

She had 7 Children with George Bone but on some of their birth certs she put her maiden name as Charnock and on others as Middleton. I have come to a dead end in tracing her family prior to her marriage - Can anyone help? Many thanks.  Mail-me

Walworth EAST LANE(East street market).

This south London market was moved from the Walworth Rd (because of traffic congestion),in 1880,once there its area gradually increased and spread into some ajacent roads, the bird market was just a part of it,I can remember the birds(mostly live poultry as I remember)before the war, think the whole market has changed a fair bit now(haven't been there for about 8 years)they had their centenary in 1980 when all the stalls were dressed up.And the Southwark Ass produced a fairly large enamel sign,I still have mine,Chas in New Zealand.

Does the pub still exist or what fate did it meet?

Cheers

Hello Alf,
I tried to find the Rising Sun when I was in London a few years ago. I couldn't really tell if it didn't exist (thanks to WW2) or if it stood where the George IV pub is. My great-grandfather ,Wilton Leftwich, was born there.
Could we be related?
