We are currently in W14 area and need a bigger house and safer area as well. Can anybody give me some indication of areas to look at and areas to stay away from. Plus what are the prices like? Would love a 3 bedroom flat/house to rent. Thanks in advance for any help offered. Post reply -->London Pimlico House Hunter 2 Nov ^ PimlicoPimlico is a real mix of nice housing and ugly towerblocks. The Westmoreland triangle and roads around there are nice, as are the streets around squares such as Eccleston Sq, Warwick Sq and Ebury Sq. Depending on your budget these might be a tad too pricey though. I personally would avoid anywhere right on or too close to Lupus Street, Churchill Gardens, Tachbrook estate....the side of Pimlico near Westminster is very pleasant as is the side near Pimlico Road. Post reply -->London Pimlico 3 Dec ^ Pimlico moving to pimlicoive lived in pimlico for 18 mths. it is a very good area and very safe area. there is no really bad area of pimlico though churchill gardens is a huge council estate which i think might not be as good an area. for a three bedroom flat you can expect to pay min price 325pw upwards. nicest areas in pimlico are st georges square belgrave rd vincent square. victoria which is nearby has carlisle and morpeth mansions which a re very nicebut expect to pay 600 to 1500 a week for them. email me on Mail-me if you require info on schools restraunts etc Post reply -->London Pimlico kelly 14 Mar Pimlico playgroupsi am a nanny for a 3 year old is there any playgroups in pimlico/victoria i can take her too Post reply -->London Pimlico laura F 31 Oct Pimlico THE COLES QUADRUPLETS - BORN PIMLICO 1950Does anyone have any older relations from Pimlico who may remember the Coles sisters - identical quadruplets who were born in September 1950 and lived in Aylesford Street. It has three bedrooms, back and front yard and its own front door. It is also small, dark and damp! The fact that it is in Pimlico means that its market value far exceeds its real value and we are very worried about leaving it to any relatives! It seems that a post code will make your property worth a lot. How can you leave what is virtually a hole in the ground to your family when it is overvalued to such an extent? Much as I love Pimlico, having been born there I can see that there is no neighbourhood feeling any more. People keep to themselves and there is no feeling of history now, as people move on.No central meeting point unless you want to go to a pub, and no family ties. Too central for its own good! Post reply -->London Pimlico Judith 22 Sep ^ PimlicoVote Tory at the next election and your property will be taken out of the inheritance tax band which will be increased to £1m. I'm not keen on being in the middle of a big estate and it's quite difficult to tell over the internet where abouts they are without knowing the area really well. Any advice on buying ex-local in the area appreciated! Gee Post reply -->London Pimlico Gee 8 Jun Pimlico Passport to PimlicoI'd love to move to Pimlico. Unfortunately, I will need a passport and a million pounds. You have more chances of getting run over by a bus. Dream on. Post reply -->London Pimlico 14 May ^ Pimlico Pimlico is full of social housing you knowThe great thing about Pimlico is it's full of social housing, right next door to the filthy rich with their million pound houses! The haves and have nots rubbing shoulders together. I live here in my fab housing association flat next door to an MP and Lord of the Realm! My monthly rent is the same as the weekly rent charged around here for similar private properties. So don't dismiss this area, you never know, you might be able to live here without having to be a gazillionaire!! I cannot afford anywhere expensive, does anyone know any good places in the Pimlico area? Post reply -->London Pimlico Sara 19 Mar ^ Pimlico wedding reception venueWe had our wedding in Pimlico and had our reception at St Peter's church hall, Eaton Square. We had about 80 people and not a big budget. It's a very attractive venue and in a nice area, but affordable. Post reply -->London Pimlico Holly 19 Mar ^ PimlicoTry Uno on Warwick Way they have expanded and James the owner is very nice, he gave an excellent party for all the estate agents a few months ago. Post reply -->London Pimlico 4 Oct ^ Pimlico Thanks HollyHi Holly, thanks. Have tried that place and it looks promising but they say we have to be out and have the hall cleaned by 11pm which would really ruin the end of the evening and they said no dancing! Did they say that to you? Post reply -->London Pimlico Sara 20 Mar ^ Pimlico wedding reception venueHi Sara, yes they said the same about being all cleaned and out by 11pm but we had music and dancing and they never said anything about us not being allowed to do that. I guess it depends what time your wedding celebrations kick off but we decided the 11pm finish was not such a bad idea and especially as we were saving a fair bit of money by having it there, it seemed a fair compromise.
