It used to turn 90 deg south after the present portion and run behind the Salvation Army Citadel parallel to Maple Road into Franklin Road more-or-less where Frant Close is now. Clearly this was before promotional material was produced for a forthcoming record so I am mystified as to the purpose of the filming. I was only a youngster at the time and I recall Frankie wearing an unfamiliar coloured suite and had to do some retakes of the song "Gandy Dancers Ball" (which I have never heard him sing on record!). Penge St johns school maple roadDoes anyone have any memories of St Johns School, Maple rd that stood where the playground is on the right hand side of the more modern building that is there now. I attended this school it was a very old building built in around c1870. I have scoured the Internet for pictures but with no luck. Wondered if anyone has any pics to share? It was joined, i think across the two buildings by a covered bit, and out the back was a sort of temporary building which was the canteen. I remember a sort of modern annex attached to the right hand side and the drive out the front had two entrances, a sort of in and out drive.
