But Nunhead is great for its small shops too, there are a fishmonger, a butcher and a baker right on your doorstep (for a candlestick maker you might have to go a bit futher afield...) His second marriage to my grandmother, Maud Matilda Dersley, didn't last and he disappeared, but that was in the 1930s. He had a son George as well. I know it's a long time ago, but anyone know anything of him at all? He was a Scotsman. Would really appreciate any info if anyone has any. It doesn't look much from the outside and used to have a blow up Mr Blobby in the window but they made me some fabulous curtains at a really reasonable price. It is the Nunhead end of Northcross Road - same side as Eds but further up. Caroline Post reply -->London Nunhead Caroline Tan 28 Aug ^ Nunhead nunhead grovei have lived in nunhead grove for 20 years - in that time there has been some car crime while the house was broken into once 15 years ago but other then that there have been few problems. keep in mind that its an economically varied part of london so any overt attempt to celebrate ones wealth is likely to attract the bad guys. the only problem we now have is parking - thanks to the pubs and new housing being built w/o enough off street parking. A few months later we got married and in 1995 we had our first son Alex. He went to Ivydale school until he was 8 where the teaching was excellent, he thrived and was very happy. In 2003 we had to move to the Midlands and our house has been rented out since. We are now sadly selling. Most of the groups of kids I see, finish schools go home and get changed and hang out together. When you get to know the community you see 'gangs with hoods' as children of neighbours and friends. The biggest threat to life in Nunhead is the absolute apathy of the councils regeneration commitee led by LibDem Executive Member Richard 'hoodie' Thomas. It was bad under the previous management now it's even worse and they've got a huge dog that barks at people in the street. I went in there and the back area was covered in dog mess!
