If you book in advance via their website (Google GNER) you may be able to get a cheaper ticket. On arrival at Kings Cross, go to the Underground and head for the northbound Northern Line. Get on a train heading to High Barnet and get off at Woodside Park. Torrington Park is only a short walk from there. If you aren't sure you are on the right Underground train, don't be frightened to ask a member of staff or even a fellow passenger - Londoners are not as unfriendly or as unhelpful as we are often made out to be. I can't recommend either as have not tried them myself yet, but I have been looking for somewhere to take yoga classes and have found a couple of places: 1. Fitness First in North Finchley (706 High Road) offers various studio classes, including yoga, without requiring membership. You have to buy 10 "tokens" in advance for £45 and can then use them for any classes you like whenever you like. There is yoga on a Mon at 8pm, Tue at 9:30am and Sat at 9:30am. 2. The Finchley Lido Leisure Centre also does yoga classes - if you're not a member then it costs £9.25 per class, but if you get a "pay and play" membership (£18.50 per year for an adult) you can then pay a discounted price of £6.45. Fitness First is cheaper, but I don't know which is better as have not tried either yet. I've been looking for a beginners yoga course rather than ad hoc classes, but have had no luck yet! We like the block but are just looking for some re-assurance - any help gratefully received. email Mail-me Post reply -->London North Finchley Mark 19 Mar ^ North Finchley KingswayI have visited the block as my partner was interested in buying a flat there but we then decided against it as the service charge is very high (due to there being a concierge), the lifts are constantly in use and you need to wait for ages for a free one, and only the higher level apartments would be considered a good investment because of the views... the lower the floor the lower the prices. As for M&S, they probably left because location wasn't ideal... North Finchleyians are simply too lazy to walk all the way to the end of the high road to do their shopping. Besides, Waitrose and Sainsbury's nearby have a lot more variety and parking space too. It tells you more on the website; it's part of the 'Tara Yoga Centre' The new Yoga Course starts on 26th of September, and it will take place every Tuesday, 6.30 pm at Carey Hall. The first class will consist of a presentation of the course and a general introduction to yoga. There is free admission for the first class.
