During the mid-late 1970s I used to go Latin-American/Ballroom Dancing on a Tuesday evening at the Peggy Spencer School of Dancing in the Arnham Gallery, Fairfield Hall. It was great fun, good excercise and I had a waist line then. I was present on one Tuesday evening when Peggy Spencer was the chief guest on "This is your life". Sadly, dancing is basically a thing of the past and I miss it. During the early 1970s I occasionally drank in a pub called something like "The Porter" or "Market Porter" - turn left out of East Croydon station then left again - with friends I had at the time. I recall it was a cosy, friendly pub which I think was opposite a Post Office Sorting Office. I wonder if the pub is still there!
