Post or Ask something here in 'Clerkenwell' Clerkenwell Anyone remember Ironmonger Street?I was born in Ironmonger Street and would like to hear from anyone else who was or remembers it. email: Mail-me Post reply -->London Clerkenwell Ernie 29 Aug Clerkenwell Ironmonger StreetIs there anyone here who remembers Ironmonger street and the surrounding area? I went to Moorfields (Bath Street) School, I was born 1947, there were many people whom lived around there that I have lost touch with over the years. Many of thekids stayed with their grans to attend Bath Street school, so I never saw them after school like those who lived in Bath, Radnor, Peerless, Baldwin, Mitchell, Bartholemew Sq, plus others I have forgotten. If anyone wishes to correspond I would appreciate it. Clerkenwell HELP NEEDED FOR CHARITY IN OLD STREETWe are a charity helping childen with a learning disability in Islington, Camden, Tower Hamlet and Harringey. Based in Old Seet we are looking to recruit a celebrity patron - anyone know a local resident or someone who grew up in the area who has gone on to become well known?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated; Mail-me Post reply -->London Clerkenwell Andrew 23 Nov Clerkenwell WATCH OUT FOR VIE GYMJust thought I would ensure that no one else falls into the same trap that I did, I unwittingly joined Vie gym in January thinking that it was a friendly and value for money gym near my work. However it has turned out to be a nightmare I decided to terminate my membership after I moved and was assured that all I had to do was hand in a letter of resignation which I did...4 months later my bank contacts me with regards to a standing order I have with my gym...the same gym I had left 4 months previously, that had promised me that my membership had been terminated etc...I ring the gym thinking that this is just a simple mistake and that they would reimburse me suddenly not the friendly gym they once were they did not reimburse me and told me sorry I should have received a letter and they assumed I still wanted to be a member...they still owe me over £250 that they will not return. Tread carefully with this gym they may be cheap but there is a reason for it Post reply -->London Clerkenwell Jen 15 Oct Clerkenwell Help needed with research in ClerkenwellCan't find some ancestors called Charles and Sophia Embury who lived in St. James, Clerkenwell in 1805. This is confirmed because they had two children baptised in Lady Huntingdon's Chapel in Spa Fields. If any research enthusiasts are out there and have done work on this area, or have come across these names, I would love to hear from you.
