^ Barbican The greasy spoon next to Safeways does a good fry-up^ BarbicanTinseltown on St. John St is open 24 hours. It has no license so no alcohol but they do amazing milk shakes using chocolate bars!!! Post reply -->London Barbican 26 Apr ^ Barbican Eating placesLoads within a short range and in the Barbican complex. Would recommend Cafe du Marche (Charterhouse Square), St John - St John Street, Bleeding Heart - a little further (maybe 10 mins walk), Alba in Whitecross Street (regional Italian - not your normal Italian restaurant fare). Club Gascon in West Smithfield has Michelin rosette. Any number of others. Post reply -->London Barbican 14 Oct ^ Barbican NothingThe place is reeaaaalllly boring. No atmosphere or community, just a concrete jungle (I know it's london but it's bad even for here) Post reply -->London Barbican ^ Barbican It is a retro paradiseThe Barbican is one of the best places you can live. There are fantastic views of London from the high floors of the tower blocks, there are great features that are very 1960s and retro, but still preserved and hard to find, such as the waste disposal system and underfloor heating, it is centrally located and you can walk to work in the city, there is high security, parking and porterage and it is retro and stylish and personally i love the architecture. Post reply -->London Barbican Peter ^ Barbican ItI moved to the Barbican 6 months ago and it's the best move I ever made! OK - at the weekends it's pretty dead but there are at least 3 tube stations within 5 mins walk and you can get wherever you want, West End, Oxford St.... It's a safe place to live and for me only 2 mins from work which takes so much stress out of my day! Post reply -->London Barbican 26 Apr ^ Barbican Living in the BarbicanGreat place to live. No.1 - Safety. Crime is almost unknown and its safe to walk around even late night. Concert Hall, Thetre, Cinemas and one of the best public libraries in London on your doorstep. Freeholder is the City Corporation so you know you're not going to get totally ripped off by a fly-by-night freeholder. Service charges may seem highish, but you get a lot for them - underfloor heating, daily rubbish collection, beautifully kept gardens, a lake etc. etc. True the buildings may look ugly, but the location is great. Quiet at weekends - but thats a bonus and if you like nightlife all the Clerkenwell bars, restaurants and clubs are within staggering distance, but don't impinge on the residential qualities. Wouldn't live anywhere else in london. - Mail-me Post reply -->London Barbican Lawrence 18 Aug ^ Barbican admittedly the estate is not particularly attractivebut since when did people pay for the quality of accommodation - no folks, they pay for LOCATION - and when you have the worlds finest orchestras on your doorstep then you can safely say you are in a very good location indeed. i would live there if i could afford it (i cant). Post reply -->London Barbican ^ Barbican Barbican backgroundHi Just idly wondering how I can find out basic costs and process of finding a Barbican Flat. I've seen a few general websites but no actual flats for rent or lease - any tips much appreciated. Mail-me Post reply -->London Barbican Tom 28 Sep ^ BarbicanI only ever use ADDISON LEE which covers all of London. 0207 387 8888. They are a bit pricier than most but very reliable. Post reply -->London Barbican 26 Apr ^ Barbican Council TaxA 2 bed flat would be 741 a year. This is a link to the City Of London information about it. http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/about_us/finance/council_tax/amounts.htm Post reply -->London Barbican ^ Barbican Safeways on Whitecross Stfor the basics... although it's the poshest Safeway's I've ever been to Post reply -->London Barbican supermarket romance friend ^ Barbican Marks & Spencer on Moorgate^ Barbican supermarket heartsso is there a weblink about this singles night of shopping??? or infor on where it is???? Post reply -->London Barbican Ria ^ Barbican Save time, go onlinetry www.tesco.com They deliver! So do Sainsburys and Waitrose. All you have to do is collect and shovel it all in the lift. Post reply -->London Barbican 25 Apr ^ BarbicanIt is just something that relies on people randomly turning up at the first supermarket which people have posted (in this case i think it is Safeways) and wearing pink hearts. It is not actually organised Post reply -->London Barbican 14 Oct ^ BarbicanWaitrose in whitecross street deliver. just go and do your shopping and then go. it is put through the till and delivered to your door. fantastic Post reply -->London Barbican 9 Mar ^ Barbican This is now a Waitrose^ BarbicanThe safeway is now a fantastic Waitrose with everything you could wish for.
