BERMONDSEYBefore 1939 Keetons Road used to extend from Jamaica Road far beyond Clements Road. I lived at 106. It led down to Peek Freans factory. They owned the houses. They had an office on the Clements Road corner replacing a WW1 bombed shop and house. Across Clements Road was Esposito sweet shop the kids called Spottytoes. Opposite was The Concorde and back across Clement Road a shop called Gerwatts - a nice German family The road was lined by laburnham trees and the front gardens had golden privet hedges.
