I'm an artist commisioned by the National Portrait Gallery to do a series of 'Live Portraits' in early April 2008. I'm looking for a night-shift worker who would be happy to sleep in the Gallery for a couple of afternoons. You'd get a bed, and it doesn't matter (to me anyway) if you don't manage to get to sleep. You'll have a lot of people looking at you and it won't exactly be quiet, but you could always wear earplugs and then shut your eyes. You'd be making history by being the first ever 'live' portrait the NPG has ever had. It would be YOUR portrait and there would be a plaque on the gallery wall while you're there with your name and, if you agree, some information about the job you do.  | Shiftworkers Morning Beers and BreakfastHi All, Am freelance shift worker in LOndon area and me and few of the folk from work occaionally head out for breakfast and beer in the morning after completing a stint of work. THe problem being that there appears to be a complete lack of places to get a drink before 10/11am. We have been to Smithfields Market several times where some pubs are open from 6 but wondering if anyone else knows of any other decent early morning places - perhaps nearer Soho area. Look fwd to hearing from anyone. Any others interested in hooking up for the same reasons please post here. I have heard of a roster using 9 teams (half teams better describes).. Each shift is made up of two of the half teams - together forming a full team..It can work on 12 or 8 hr shifts - averages out to 37.3 hrs per week . We are currently looking at shift options and we have the opportunity to put forward ideas. I have tried working it out on paper but it is not coming togther. Does anyone know how it all owrks, or even better is anyone working it?
