So many of you have reminded me of life in Willesden in the late 40s early 50s my name is Derek (Dell) may and along with my brothers Fred and a few years later our younger brother Bob with Violet and Fred our mum and dad we lived for the most part in Outgate road.Dad owned a small garage called Auto Motors later run by brother Fred. I went to Leopold Road, Fred went Dudden Hill lane school. Alot of you have have reminded me of the shops in Church Rd through to Harlesden and the other direction towards Willesden Green .anyone remember the cockles and winkle barrows outside the White Horse pub in Church rd. Also rember taking our jerry built sledges up to Roundwood Park in the winter? so many more memories to numerous to mention happy days

I am still in contact with Kathy Percival, Ros Blaquiere, Sue Maisey, Rita Whittington and Anita Sams and Joan Tucker, does anyone remember us? Miss Percy was our head, our French teacher was Miss Murtough who loved Arkle and point to point (and whom I will thank forever as I now live in France, Joan lives in Canada). Our RE teacher was Mrs Arditi, the rest I would remember if promted, there was a Czech calligraphy teacher, a male typing teacher and the rest I remember events but not names. It became a comprehensive in the Upper 6th when war was declared by the schools we linked with, they must have thought us awful snobs as we had a uniform.
